How to Plan Your Healthy Lifestyle With Ease [2 Easy Steps]

Lifestyle is the path you carve from the choices you make.  Planning your lifestyle is the first step towards success.

Everyone is guilty of making excuses for their behavior like, ‘It’s the weekend so I can take it easy,’ or ‘I just don’t have it in me during the colder seasons to exercise like I do in the summer.’ 

But you will become your truest self (the version of yourself that works the hardest and smartest) when you plan and follow through even when it’s the weekend, the holidays, or when people around you are pressuring you to give in.  You will get to know yourself and discover that you like the person you are becoming.

It’s difficult to know where to start in making changes to an already worn path, so here are the simple steps for a successfully planned change in lifestyle.

Step 1: Hold A Weekly Planning Meeting with Yourself.

Plan the meals you want to try, the food you to need to buy for those meals, and what day you will go grocery shopping.  This is also the time to set goals for each week. Goals can range from ‘deep cleaning the garage’ to ‘taking a shower.’

Goals can be separated into five categories.  During your weekly planning meetings, make one goal for each category.  These categories include the following:

  1. nutrition
  2. fitness
  3. mindset
  4. spirituality
  5. school/work

The fastest way to achieve success in your goals is if you take them from being intangible to being in physical form of writing.

After writing out your goals, put them in a place you will see every day.  This could be your bathroom mirror or on the inside of your car windshield.  The important thing is that you are being constantly reminded of the direction you want to be going.

Don’t chase your goals, attack them with intention. Plan, plan, plan.

Step 2: Set Alarms and Other Reminders (for literally everything).

*TIP: Use the app, TODOIST, for alarms and goal organization.*

Don’t trust yourself to remember everything you have to do.  Your brain has enough it already has to deal with, so make it as easy on yourself as possible.  

Some items you can set alarms for to automate your lifestyle are:

  • grocery shopping
  • food prepping
  • meal times
  • weekly planning meeting

Follow Through On Your Meal Time Alarms!

If you stick to your alarms that tell you when to eat, you will be taking a preventative action in staying ahead of hunger.  This will regulate your blood sugar and give you the control you need to make choices that will build you up, not break you down.

In applying these two steps to your life, you will be able to carve a new pathway to a life you want to live. You will become the best version of you that you can be.  You will discover a strength in yourself that you never knew existed before. You will plan the lifestyle you deserve to have.

I speak from personal experience when I say that you can change your life.  I used to think that I was stuck. I thought that the person I had become was the person I would be forever, but that is not how humanity was meant to be.  We are meant to progress forever. There is no end to the possibilities of who you can become, if only you take that first step.
